Chocolate Two-Layer Cake

About the Recipe

Ingredients

3 cups flour (sifted 3 times)

2/3 cup Crisco

2 cups sugar

2 eggs

2 cups buttermilk

5 Tbsp cocoa

2 teaspoon baking soda

2 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

Cream together Crisco, sugar and eggs.

Beat buttermilk, cocoa, baking sodo and vanilla.

Alternate adding beaten mixture and flour to the Crisco, sugar and egg mixture.

Pour batter into greased pan and bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

Can be frosted or served with ice cream.
