Mama Sue's Bourbon Pecan Pie

About the Recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 sticks of butter

2 cups chopped pecans

Bourbon to taste

1/2 cups self-rising flour (note: self-rising, not all-purpose flour!)

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 cup whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 1/2 cups brown sugar

1 1/2 cups hot water


Preparation

Melt butter in saucepan and add pecans and bourbon to the melted butter; set aside.

Mix together flour, sugar, milk and vanilla.

Put butter-pecan mixture at bottom of pan.

Pour batter over the butter-pecan layer.

Sprinkle the bown sugar over the whole pie, then pour the hot water on top.

Bake at 350° (check due to oven variation)
